The project

Why this project?

 

Although cultural diversity is not a new phenomenon in the last decades it became particularlyintense in our continent because of different reasons (arrival of migrants from other continentssearching for better life opportunity, globalization and revolution of telecommunication systemand development of transport, etc).In this framework the European Union recognized the presence of kids of different cultures ada structural aspect in the education system. Intercultural competence has an essential role in thekids development, not only in order to acquire competences useful in the multicultural labourmarket, but most of all to become active and aware citizens.

 

What this project is about?

 

This project will address the topic “Encourage social inclusion through sport”. This project addresses the mission of the partner organizations of using sport as a tool for education and social inclusion, to make a positive change in their local communities and in the European community. The project’s activities fit organically with the current activities of the organizations, who will benefit concretely and directly of the project increasing their know-how, exchanging good practices, empowering the quality of their educational services and implementing new ones.

 

Project objectives

 

Intercultural Sport Challenge aims at:-Giving to educators, teachers, and social workers involved in the education of kids instruments and tools to use sports as a vehicle to promote inclusion in their intercultural learning environment-Giving to sport coaches instruments and tools to make the sport practice more inclusive for immigrate kids belonging to different cultures-Contributing in sharing the culture of sport as in instrument for education and social inclusion, building a bridge between sport and social sector

Research

 

A Research delivered in every partner country and at a European Level, aimed at collecting data about the specific need of our project’s target (sport coaches, youth workers, teachers), as well at identify in resources, potentials and existing good practices, and, additionally, previous projects on the topic in the framework of the Erasmus + Sport program.

 

Training course

 

Training Course involving 5 sport coaches and youth workers form 5 countries, aimed at providing participants specific skills to use sport as a tool for social inclusion in the work with intercultural groups of kids and make sport practice more inclusive.

 

Local activities

 

 local workshops(1 per each partner country), involving 20 participants for each partner, to test and promote the methodology produced during the project

The international consortium

All the organizations that from the consortium have something in common: they all work promoting education and social inclusion through sport, they are familiar with non-formal education methods and the yare active at European level (all partners are experienced in the Erasmus+ program).At the other hand, each partner has some specific features that allow it to give an added contribution in this consortium.

Why L’ORMA?

The Sport clubL’ORMAhas a strong experience in providing sport and non-formal educational activities at the local, regional andEuropean level,especially destinated to kids. The organization is also experienced in trainingof youth workers and sport coaches. L’Orma can benefit from this projectincreasing the professional background of its staff and giving a high-qualitystandardto its services.Thisorganization will share its experience in projectmanagement within the Erasmus+sport program

Why SPORT 4C?

This partner is very experienced in the use of sport for promoting education, socialinclusion and intercultural dialogue.Its wide experience in training and educationwill allow to give a strong coordination in the design and coordination of the localtraining. Considering that this partner doesn’t currently work with kids, this projectwill provide a great opportunity to expand their target in their educational activities

Why AECV?

This partner is very active in its local territory, daily operating in a multicultural contest, promoting sport activities to kids, youngsters and adults. For this reason, we believe that they can strongly contribute to the realization of the project, and ,specifically, to the implementation and the coordination of the local program. The project’s outcomes will benefit a lot the organization, that will gain new professional competence on the topic and the target, and empower their current activities making them more inclusive.

WHY YOUTH SPORT TRUST INTERNATIONAL?

One of the strengths of this partner relatively to this consortium is its wide experience at an International (also global) level, working in promoting sport and physical activity, as well as social inclusion. The organization is active als oin educational and sport projects for kids. Its huge experience in the international sector, combined with their solid presence on the local territory will allow them to give a strong added value in the project.

WHY NECI?

This partner has a great experience in the sector strategic partnership foreducation and mobility of youth workers. A point of strength of this organizationis that it has different branches in different European countries. For this reason,this partner will be chosen to coordinate the dissemination andsupportingtheinternational conference, because of its capability of reach a wide target of directdestinataries in different European countries. This project will allow to NECI to gainexperience in the Sport area of the E+ program, expanding its network andempowering its current activities.
