Project Summary
People are stressed and struggling with demanding life to shape the future, to survive from financial crisis, to be healthy, to be up to date with fashion etc. These in addition to new trends of IT (Social media-SM and Mobile Communication Devises-MCD) influences the effective communication between people. The result is self and social marginalization, vanity and indifference to diversity and to personal development.
Nowadays life should enclose new trends of technology for effective communication, but unfortunately its happening the opposite. MCD and SM blocked or sometimes enclosed life of many people (Drago,E. 2015). Social media, though, were developed in a way that should support people coming closer to each other and share information. Youthworkers (yw) and NGOs realised that what is really happening is that the more the social media are being developed the more the users (and especially the youngsters) are being distracted from reality, they are excluded from society, and they even self-marginalised. Yw are facing these issues daily and recognize that they have to support and assist their youngsters and themselves to confront these problems. Yw express the need to find ways to adjust and improve their practice in order to be able to work effectively with youths to make use of SM and MCD for their own and social development and inclusion.Throughout this project we will present and create tools, share practices and develop skills and competences through NFL in order to empower yw to use of social media and social network as a supporting mean to their professional and personal improvement.
We aim to train yw how to use in better way I.T (sm and sn, ex. facebook, linkedin, youtube, create websites, being critical on information that come from Internet and understand cyberbullying effects) to support youngsters more efficiently, reducing social exclusion and increasing employability opportunities.
